The River Suburbs
The river suburbs have the best outlooks in the south, and the worst orientation for it: most of those Georges River views face west, which means the afternoon sun arrives exactly where the glass is biggest. Living rooms in Oatley, Lugarno, Blakehurst and Connells Point cook from 2pm in summer.
The fix is a high-clarity solar film that cuts the heat and glare while the view stays untouched. We did exactly this for a home in Lugarno recently: sun glare down, privacy up, and the view over the water exactly as it was.
Leafy streets don't save the west-facing glass, and the newer duplexes need privacy from close neighbours too. One visit sorts both, with samples held against your actual windows first.
